Question by Chi Guy: Is sound cutting out on my DVD player due to a cheap HDMI cable?
I’m begining to suspect that the higher priced cables have better bandwidth handling capabilities with less noise.
I also ran my HDMI cables right next to power cables which is a no-no in the electronics industry due to AC induction.
Do the cables matter or should I try seperating my signal cables from my power cables?
Are pricier cables shielded better?

There’s no way to tell unless you try a different cable. I always use Monster cables. You can get them at a good price on Ebay. I would try separating your cables from the power cords in any case.
